Tracking Performance for Art Grants

Why:  The National Endowment for the Arts  plays an important role in enriching the lives of Americans and our communities through its primary mission: to advance artistic excellence, creativity, and innovation for the benefit of individuals and communities.  The NEA allocates 40% of its grant-making funds, by legislative mandate, to state arts agencies and regional arts organizations, thereby extending the NEA’s reach into every community in America.

What:  Members of the Technical Assent team supported the requirements development and design for a Data Portal feasibility project envisioned to improve collection, validation, and reporting of grant data.  Successful implementation will reduce the administrative burden of required reports, instead focusing its efforts on the evaluation and performance of its grant programs.  By taking advantage of modern computing infrastructure in the cloud, the agency will have the ability to better mine vast amounts of data and document the positive impacts of their programs on local communities.
