A data display shows a map of the world

Why. Combatant commanders, their staff, and other key players in Congress and the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) require reliable data to support decisions about how to use and manage contracts and contractor personnel in operations. However, much of the data is generated and stored in siloed tools and systems of record. In some cases, the data is unreliable, and in some cases, the data does not exist at all.

What. Technical Assent led an extensive effort to identify, organize, and prioritize more than 120 information requirements based on various user groups and developed a road map to build enterprise operational-contracting support (OCS) data capability. This included training, data discovery, data analysis, and program management for execution of the data roadmap. In less than two years, we produced four DoD-wide integrated and interactive data visualization applications supporting combatant commanders, congress, and others.
